Hello,

My name is Teymur and I am planning to visit Canada & US this June, 2019, the purpose is tourism, I want to see Montreal, Toronto, Niagara and New York. I will most probably travel for the duration of 2 weeks. I have some friends there and aunt (but we are not really close), so I am planning to stay in hotels during my trip.

My background: I work at the oil company as an Operations Assistant. I am from Azerbaijan, 23 years old, not married, have sufficient funds for the duration of my trip. I live with my family, love traveling and nature. I have been to Spain, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey.

The issue: I have been rejected Canadian visa 2 times before when I wanted to do a 6-week intensive english courses in Montreal, but after my last rejection, I have received a promotion at work and do not intend to take the courses anymore. I received rejection due to these reasons: travel history, purpose of trip and ties in Canada and home country. In previous applications I did not provide the bank statement for the past 4 months, no pay slips, and at that time I have not been in Spain and France. Also at the time of application I worked as an Operations Assistant Trainee.

What do you think about my situation and chances now?

It depends when the two refusals happened. If they were last year, then you are still at high risk for refusal.

If they were a number of years ago, then your chances are better.

Prove the ties back home are strong and your proofs of return along with your expense management during your stay including insurances.

Thank you for your reply! Could you specify what you meant under “expense management”?

I heard that chances of getting a Canadian visa are much greater if one already has the US one, how relevant this info is? (I have a US visa cause I am planning to visit both the US & Canada this summer).

if you recently GOT US visa so better visit on that visa for US only and after that plan to apply either who knows you lost your US visa as well as CA and US share everything so better be sensible not in rush as it can indicate and raise a question like why you want to GO ONLY CANADA?

Oh no sorry if I was unclear, I do have the US visa which I applied for a few weeks ago and I have it valid for one year. I applied for it so that I could visit BOTH the US and Canada this summer (I live on another continent so I thought if I am traveling to America I should visit both countries during one trip instead of doing it separately).

And now I am planning to apply for Canadian to get it too. I am going to show my travel plan to CIC (cities I am going to visit in US and Canada) and show my US visa too.

I tried my best, hope I was clear this time!

Basically in the letter you should write how you are going to mange expenses. Also add a medical insurance during your travel. If the visa is rejected, it can cancelled. It will add more weightage to your apllucation that you will not depend on the government for medical expenses.
