Hello, My parents was on visitor visa stay was expired on April 10,2024 and applied for the extension until 7 November 2024 . But they left the country on November 1,2024. I sent webform to ircc about that they went to India and are not in canada. I received the reply today: April 28,2025 and IRCC refused :that I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the IRCC. Your application therefore refused. Persons wishing to extend temporary resident status in canada must satisfy and officer that they will leave Canada by end of the period authorised for their stay……. Your status in Canada is valid until April 28 , 2025. But they already left in November 2024.

Question : What could be the reason for the refusal? Is it because they are not in Canada?
2) can they re enter ? they have still visa .

You cannot apply the extension and leave.

They can try to enter if they have a valid TRV.

: from april 2024 to Nov 2024 we needed extension and we requested for that. They left after 6 months from applied date.IRCC replied very late eventhough we updated through webform

Dont worry last i was in the same situation but now m in canada… I entered after 6 months after the refusel so your parents should out atleat 6 to 8 months so they can re enter canada

Yes I applied before the date when status was about to expire. Like 10 days ahead of the that time.

Hello Jeet, but they already left in Nov 2024.already ( more than 6 months)IRCC replied very late (today they replied)for that application which I applied in April 2024.Now they are planning to come next month. We whole family is here.

Jeet , my point is : refusal is from today.do you mean from today 6 months they will count? Because they already left when application was in processing. It has been already 6-7 months from when they left the country.

Ok they can come back with valid resson….. so they left the country voluntarily so don’t worry about refusel because you are waiting the decision that is called maintain staus or implied status…in my case i got refusel after 4 months when after my status expired then back to india snd stay ) months then come back on that visitor visa
