We submitted a joint Visitor Record extension application for two people before their original 6-month period since entrance expired. Today, IRCC sent a medical exam request, but one of them will leave Canada tomorrow.

Can the person who is leaving withdraw his application after his flight takes off, while keeping the other applicant’s extension active? In this case, can he skip the medical exam in a different country after the withdrawal? Would this negatively impact their future applications?

Thanks in advance for your help! I’d really appreciate your advices.

Did they stay past the original visit allowed? If so they can’t withdraw and need to do the medical. They can do it in their home country. Yes it will be a problem if they don’t do the medical if they want to get a visa in the future. Would recommend advising IRCC when they leave Canada.

Thanks, they applied extension before the original expire date (ie 6 months since entrance) and have been under implied status. Anyway we found a slot tomorrow morning so will do medical tomorrow morning, thank you very much!
