Visitor extension with inland spouse sponsorship applcation? Help please

I'm sending my husbands application for permanent residence in Canada soon and my question is do we send a visitor extension as well due to his visitor visa expiring end of August? Or the sponsorship ( family class) application will suffice to keep his status in Canada? Thank you

The application for permanent residence itself does not give any status.

Are you applying for the Open Work Permit? If so, that's what grants implied status.

What country is your spouse from? It's generally recommended to apply outland since for most people outland is much faster.

If you want to apply for a visitor extension, you should do so around 30 days before his status expires.

I can send an application for his OWP but I also thought that by requesting another extension and having the sponsorship in process that my husband coould stay while the application is being processed?

My husband is from Britain as well not sure if that makes a difference?
