Visitor extension rejected (in Canada class sponsorship application)

Hello all,

Would be appreciated if you can give me some advice what should i do for next step.

I submitted my sponsorship application (in Canada class) on 8 Mar 2019 and because of my visitor status was expired on 14 Mar 2019, I also filed online my application to extend my stay on 11 Mar 2019. Today, I received a refusal letter from IRCC regarding my stay extension application.

As I am awaiting AOR for my sponsorship application, I am wondering if that is the reason that i got the rejection?

Given my visitor status is already expired, should I apply a restoration of status NOW or it’s better for me to wait for a week or two to apply until I may get a AOR soon. I haven’t applied for OWP together with my sponsorship application, so I think applying for restoration is the only thing I can do, right?

what was the reason for denial? before applying for an OWP you will have to have valid status...

It doesn't stated the reason for denial, please see below the wordings from the refusal letter:

In reaching a decision, an officer considers several factors, which include the applicant’s:
1. Reason for original entry and reason for requested extension;
2. Ties to country of permanent residence, including: - employment and study commitments; - family ties and responsibilities; - status (citizenship or immigration status);
3. Financial means for the extended stay and return home;
4. Travel and identity documents;
5. Probability to leave Canada at the end of authorized stay.
After considering all the circumstances of your case, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations.

Yes, I know I can't apply for OWP now as i don't have valid status ....

You really should have included the OWP app. You would have still had status.

Did you state in the extension app that you were applying for PR and include sufficient proof of finances?

So regret that i didn't apply for OWP ....

I did state in my extension application that "I am applying PR" and included bank statements with sufficient fund as proof of finance.

If i apply for restoration after receiving AOR for PR application, would I have more chances to get a restoration? Hopefully, I may have AOR in a week or two.

AOR won't increase the chances. Apply for Restoration ASAP. Include the PR fee receipt and proof that you've applied.
