hi, i have applied online for visitor visa and today i got visitor acknowledgement letter from immigration office. What ll be the next step and does anyone know how long does it take after this.

In a day or two , you'll receive a letter asking for your Biometrics. You now need to request a slot from the Canada Visa Application Centre where taking the Biometrics takes place. Once Biometrics is submitted, processing and checking of your application/background takes place. Then you need to wait for the decision.

I have already submitted biometrics a week ago . I got biometrics requested letter after a day of submission of my file. Is it possible that i got this acknowledgement email after biometrics.

I have submitted my TRV online application in Abu Dhabi, below is the timeline
Application submitted on 7th August, 2019
Bio-metrics request 8th August, 2019
Bio-metrics submitted 8th August, 2019
Bio-metrics updated in the online application 08th August, 2019.
Since 08th August, 2019 the application is stuck with Background check and till date no update?
is it normal?
Any one can please reply as i am waiting and every day morning checking an email with a hope that there might be change.

I mentioned above the link for number of estimated days of processing. But this can vary depending on the influx of applications. I think you just have to wait. If you want to enquire about your application you can contact IRCC via their web form http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

Yes as they need to check the validity of the documents you sent and the facts written on your application form. Unlike getting a US visa, you go to an interview. The officer can right away see if you are lying. For TRV, some even get a ban for falsification of documents.

This is not about you. I'm referring to some cases who did this.
