Hello, I am applying via IES to make a working holiday trip to Canada, but the predicted processing time for the application is 58 weeks (oof) so I'm looking at alternative options to visit in the mean time. (My partner lives in Canada.) I am eligible to travel with eTA as a visitor, and I'm wondering whether doing that will impact my IES application in any way or if there's a possible better way to go about getting myself over there that I'm not aware of. I'm also not clear on whether or not visiting with an eTA is possible with covid? I'd be traveling from Australia to BC.

Are you and your partner married or common law?

Second question - what is your partner's status in Canada? Is your partner Canadian or in Canada on a temporary visa such as a work permit or study permit?

Hi @scylla

If my (Canadian PR) parent with an ETA wants to travel to Canada from the US I’m guessing they won’t need a travel exemption? Will they be allowed to enter only for an emergency or compassionate reasons?

Thanks in advance!
