Hello,

I’m planning a trip to the US and have a question. I’ve heard that people who crossed the US border and claimed refuge in Canada are questioned at the US border or sent back because they entered Canada illegally using US territory. Is there a way to clear this up before I travel to avoid any delays at the border? Has anyone else encountered this situation before? I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences.

Thanks

It is true. Probably they will refuse your visa. Some agents give visa approval but others, deny. If you already have a visa, can try to travel. But remind the visa is just for to travel to the border, reach airport, the agent can deny to enter. It is risky. Be prepared to return.
One more thing, you can travel as protected person wirh RTD , as claimant, you cant.

I have a Canadian citizenship but I entered through US border and claimed refuge in Canada.
