Visiting my home country after applying for the citizenship?

Hello all,

Just wondering if I can visit my home country after applying for the citizenship. I heard that it would take more than 1 year for the application to be processed in this pandemic. Is there any issue with visiting and staying abroad for almost 1 year?

You should not stay abroad for 1 year in case if CIC need further docs from you or if they send you citizen test invite.

You may stay abroad for a shorter period of time but staying longer abroad is not recommended.
