Hello! My husband is soon going to be PR and we want to visit friends in Chicago. My question is how long does the process take to apply and get a visitor visa? I am canadian citizen if that could make any difference. Please share any experience related to the that.Thank you!

In our case it depended on which US embassy had available appointments. The one in Calgary was only a three day wait so my wife flew out there for her interview. Then she picked up her passport the next day.
You being a citizen doesn’t really matter when it comes to speed of processing. It will just help show that the chances of your spouse not leaving the USA are less .
Just to add that being a PR might give some credit towards a visa but ultimately it will likely be based more on the passport country and travel history. As above you being a citizen will make little difference as it is husbands visa same goes when entering the US it is your husband who will be assessed by USCBP for entry whether you are with him or not.
