Visiting Canada as a Tourist

Hello !

I will be visiting my friend in Canada this May (2019) from India. I will be travelling International for the first time. I have booked my Return ticket online and my onward journey is via Zurich . I wanted to know about all the preparations I must do before boarding my flight to avoid any trouble .
Also I want to know whether it is an issue to travel after almost 8 months of getting my TOURIST VISA ? What documents do I need to carry alongwith and what are the other considerations I need to keep in mind?

I’ll answer your second question first. No, traveling a few months after getting the visa is no big deal.

Since this is your first time traveling, and you’re presumably young, be prerpared to answer a few questions about the purpose of your visit, how long you’ll be staying, etc. The border officers will want to make sure you’re a genuine tourist.

That being said, there’s nothing to be too worried about. Tens of thousands of people come to Canada every week and the vast majority are asked a few quick questions and then welcomed in.
