i need help .my Visa well expired sept .25 2014. from US we entered canadian border they change it to dec 26 2012, the reason is I well be sponsoerd by mu husband for citizenshio or PR. we submetted my papers last oct 17.. please help where to extend my visa... i call immigration call center bt cant get tru!1 i need help!!

So you need to leave or apply to extend your stay by December 26, 2012.

You may apply online or you may submit a paper application.

You don't say if you applied inland or outland. If you applied outland, I'd suggest waiting until you get the sponsor approval (which should be early December given current processing times) so you may include a copy of the sponsor approval letter with your application to extend your stay.

If you applied inland, you will need to submit a copy of the receipt for the fees and a copy of the courier receipt for delivery of your application to CPC-V (assuming you have one) as you will not have AIP in that time frame.

No matter what, you must apply to extend by December 26, 2012. As long as they have received your application to extend, you may stay in Canada under "implied status" (they act as if your application to extend your status has been approved).

Hi, , my question now is> if my application of resident well be approve, do i still need to apply for my visitor Visa! that's what i have visitor visa that well expired Dec 2012. Prior to the changes of date n year of my visitor pass ?

As long as you are a foreign national, you will need to extend your visitor status for you to legally remain in Canada.

If you receive your passport, landing counterfoil (assuming you are not visa-exempt), and COPR back, you may land at any time. Once you "land" you are no longer a foreign national, you are a permanent resident, and no longer require a visitor's record or TRV to be in Canada legally. But you are legally required to remain in status.
