Visa validity beyond the validity of passport

Hi fellas,

My MIL got 5 years visa stamped on her passport. I wonder if Canada can give a visa beyond the validity of the passport, Cos my MIL passport expires on 20 June 2020 and she has a visa valid until 11 august 2020. And also on the application, we put the visiting period from 6 November 2015 till 3 may 2016. But she was given visa from 11/08/2015 till 11/08/2020. Despite this, is it possible for her to travel before November cos we want to advance the travel date for 1 month somewhere in October.

The TRV can be used from 11/08/2015 till 11/08/2020.

Not confusing. On the application for the visiting period was from 6 November 2015 till 3 may 2016. She was granted a visa with the validity starting from 11 august 2015. She requested from 6 November. So she can travel before November right?

She can travel any time within the validity of the visa. Where the visa endorsed passport expires during the validity of the visa she can use the valid visa in the expired passport plus a new passport to travel to Canada.
