Hello,
I applied online for a study permit, provided all documentation including university registration (1-yr preparatory) CAQ, biometrics, etc... but for whatever reason the system considered it as a Visa application (assuming I had the permit already?). I was thus granted a 5-yrs Student Visa SX (which apparently is granted to those who come to study less than 6 months).
After I started my studies, the university asked me to complete my file with a study permit (it is only then that I realized there was a mistake from the CVO). I thus applied for a modification of status and after 3-weeks, IRCC refused to process the request for modification because I cannot do that from Canada.
Deadline for me to provide the permit is Dec. 20 and I am almost done with my first session. Can I send my study permit application to CVAC Los Angeles or should I go back to my country of origin? Am I in an illegal situation? Any insight?
Thanks
