Need some information regarding refusal as the student visa application was refused on the basis of the following:
I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: you failed to declare the use of an agent to submit your application.

IRCC thinks you lied on your application. No one can comment because we don’t know if you answered truthfully. Did you complete the application yourself? So you used an agent and didn’t declare it?

yes my father once submitted an immigration application for US which was refused and i didn't show it in my application but I was not aware of that and it was about 10 years ago. Now how should i justify myself when I will submit my application again

Yes you will have to declare the refusal. You are lucky you were not sent a letter with a potential 5 year ban. The refusal is that you used an agent? Did you use an agent or fill out the application yourself with no help?

If you used a friend that that is considered using a representative, and needed to be declared. IRCC figured out that you didn’t do it yourself. That is why you got the refusal. You can use a friend but declare the person as your representative, and fill out the correct forms.

From IRCC definition, representatives can be:
  • citizenship or immigration consultants
  • lawyers
  • friends
  • family members or
  • other third parties

But the thing is that I filed it by myself he just guided me about the site and uploading procedure. It was all done by myself.
One thing more Im going to make 2nd attempt but should I create new portal or use the previous one to submit my application again.

Well IRCC figured out that you had help, and you did. You can try with current portal. You will have to declare the previous refusal.

should i rewrite my client information or should i just add my justification about the refusal in the previous one.
