Visa process

Hi,
I have applied to university for Mba program without any help from agents or consultancy but i don't know how the visa process will be done. Which documents i need to keep ready. How to show the amount as i comes under a non spp so do i need to make gic or my sponsor can show the amount and what are the other things i need to do

Once you get admission
4-6 months bank statement equal to course costs tution fees plus accommodations
Source of income
A very concise letter to visa officer
Police character certificate.
Visa process will take 3 months.

I'm applying for canada. And the bank statement should be of sponsor or mine ? Because my father is going to sponsor me. he is having all the balance.
