Hi everyone, I applied for a study permit for the Fall 2025 intake, but unfortunately, my visa was issued quite late. Because of that delay, I had to defer my admission to the Winter 2026 intake. I’ve already submitted my new Letter of Admission to IRCC through the web form. My question is — will there be any issue at the airport or port of entry since my visa mentions was issued on basis of Fall 2025, but I’ll be traveling for the Winter 2026 semester instead?

Since approved, make sure you have new LOA on hand when you enter in case CBSA asks for it.

I also have a similar issue. My initial LOA was for Fall 2025, but visa approval came after classes had begun and beyond the final registration date. So, my school deferred my program to Fall 2026 since my program has only a Fall intake. I updated IRCC with my new LOA and PAL. They replied that they have received my documents and attached them to my file for an officer to access and review.
My question is: If I get to the port of entry with my POE and TRV, which expires in December 2027, would the border officer issue my permit based on the new LOA dates other than the initial one?

Depends. You will only know once you receive approval. Officer can give you whatever length so you just extend once in Canada. What do you mean your TRV expires in December 2027?
