visa expiring Dec 5th. URGENT What do we do??

I need to extend my wifes Visa, she has a valid open work permit but her visa expires Dec 5th. Can we do this online? as usual it is complicated and there is nothing on the gckey for visa extensions. Her PR is in process right now.

A TRV can't be extended. She needs to apply for a new one. Unless she is planning to leave Canada and re-enter, she doesn't actually need to have a TRV.

we are going to the states next year with her us visa. we dont know if we want to wait for the pr to come, who knows when that will be.

If she is only going to the US, she can travel on her expired TRV as long as she returns while her OWP is still valid.

Yeah, it is an odd little exception that most people don't really know about. Note that if you plan to go to a third country from the US, the exception no longer applies and a TRV is required.

well thanks for the info. We will just be going to the states, but don't want to get caught coming back with no visa, last thing I want to do is lose my wife over something stupid like that
