visa expired 2010 May 22nd

I'm applying to permanent resident as the canadian experience class soon march 26.
While it is processing, my working visa will be expired May 22nd.
should i extend my working visa? Which is really difficult.
cause I need a labour market opinion.
can i just stay in toronto with expired working visa until getting result of permanent resident?
or should i leave canada without any result ?

Do not stay and never overstay in Canada. It will not affect your application but will attract an interview.
