Visa exempt countries

Hi guys, this may seem like a silly question. But I'm from Australia. I have never needed a visa to enter Canada before, and so I assume that makes me visa exempt. Is this correct?

And as such, I guess I won't receive a passport request. Or am I wrong here. Please help

You are indeed visa exempt and will skip the passport request.

You'll get the Confirmation of Permanent Residence at some point (via mail).

Yes - you are from a visa exempt country and you won't receive a passport request. You'll just get a COPR letter instead.
