Hi,

We are a business owner in UK with clients in Canada. (industry is manufacturing)

We are hoping to expand in Canada with the plans to open a small office (in Calgary) to begin with start of next year.

On looking into options the Start Up visa looks like the best option for us, however this states processing time is 12 - 16 months.

Does anyone have any experience with this process? Does it take this long? If so, is there any fast track options?
Or if there is any other visa options that you can advise?

thank you
Claire

There is no immigration program that will get you PR by the start of next year. The Start Up visa typically does take at least a year and that's after you've found a designated organization willing to fund your idea.

I would recommend you look into temporary business visa options instead. I believe it may be possible to obtain an Intra-Company Transfer visa (temporary work permit) - but you'll have to look into that to see if you meet the requirements.
