Hi,

My Wife is on Open WP (based on my ICT WP), valid till Jul 2020. Her WP says Case Type "20", LMIA is blank, Emplyer is "Any", Employment Location as "UNKNOWN" and Occupation as "OPEN".

Factoring all options based on our constraints, we are being advised following as plausible approach for PR

1. Wife starts full time job
2.I resign from my job and apply for Open Spousal WP
3.After 2 months Open WP till Jul 2020 will be granted to me
4. I Explore job offers (full time / part time) and apply for Open WP Extension / PR based on options available

Does this sounds ok ?

We are asked for 3000 CAD for guidance and PR based on support for above plan.

Thanks

No - it's 100% wrong. You don't qualify for an open work permit based on your wife's open work permit. Your wife would have to switch to a closed work permit in order for you to qualify for an open work permit. To switch to a closed work permit, she needs a job offer and approved LMIA.

Don’t go with these consultants if they advised you to do this. They have no idea what they are talking about.

Are they an ICCRC registered consultant? They should be reported for horrid advice.
