Friends,My WP was rejected a week ago while I got my AOR.

What are the options do I have to stay back in Canada. Please help.

1. you now have 90 days from the date your work permit was rejected to apply for restoration of status and a new work permit. What was the reason for refusal if you don't mind sharing? Did you include a LMO? It is important that you sort it out asap since the visa office could request the PCC anytime now and you will be expected to provide it.

2. Is it possible to obtain a PCC from CGI if you have visitor status? If so, you can consider restoring your status by changing conditions to visitor status(not permitted to work). This way you can get the PCC and when you sort out the work permit issue, you can again change conditions to worker status. Consult a lawyer for more advice.

Sorry to hear

Below are options i am aware ..

1.apply Bridging” Open Work Permit and wait untill your new work permit comes (as per processing times 83 days)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2012-12-17.asp

2.apply Work permit thought Company where your working and wait untill your new work permit comes (as per processing times 83 days)

3. Apply PCC from India ..i am not sure how it works --Please check

You can submit PCC during the process , PR processing may take 3 to 4 months to get the medicals .you will get WP with 3 months ..

I had a positive LMO and every other document but was rejected.

Sorry to hear that! Like SenoritaBella put it, I think what your first step should be is restoring your status. I would then move forward with an application for the bridged open work permit, if you received the AOR. If all else fails, I would apply to adjust my status. Not sure what else could be done, unless there are new circumstance to consider in regards to your work permit application. From what I've read, they will not reconsider unless facts/circumstance have changed.

restoration -> open bridged work permit
restoration -> adjustments of status
restoration -> re-submitted work permit app with modifications (CIC notes in mind, if any)

sorry about this. are u on a post graduate work permit or under foreign worker stream?? i am just wondering how they can reject ur work permit even after obtaining positive LMO. What really went wrong??

Don't know what went wrong, but it does say on the LMO letter that a LMO doesn't guarantee getting a work permit

Hi all,

Since we are in the topic, just wondering if we restore our status as a worker, can we apply for open bridging work permit?
