Verification of original documents

Hi all,
I want to ask whether CIC at any time, after issuance of ITA can ask for producing original documents. I mean just by checking online uploaded documents, isn't CIC asking for trouble on account of giving PR based on fake documents by an applicant.

Of course they can!! And they *do* verify uploaded docs.

Do fake documents "get by" occasionally? Of course. Why are you asking the question?

I asked because I couldn't see anywhere the requirement of producing the original documents in this Express Entry system.

CIC does background checks on your application, so producing fake docs isn't going to help your case. Also even after getting your PR or citizenship CIC has the power to revoke should it find that you obtained it using fake documents.

Rest assured guys, I am not producing any fake docs. I have already uploaded all the original docs on the CIC portal.

I was just concerned as this system was prone to abuse by candidates uploading fake docs as the verification of original docs was nowhere mentioned in the whole express entry procedure.

No one's doubting you

just because it isn't mentioned doesn't mean that they cannot ask. CIC always says that it can request additional documents should they feel the need for it.

I second that. Therez background check. Also, if someone beleives that it may not be done for all cases and they can get thru, it is worth noting that if anytime in the future they realise tht a fraud has taken place, appropriate action will follow. Which includes prosecution, imprisonment deportation and a temporary/permanent ban.

So anyone with reasonable sanity wouldnt give it a try,..
