Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how visa officers verify foreign work experience? Do they physically visit the site as well, besides calling and emailing? Thanks.

I will ask you a follow up question. I worked in Germany, UAE, Italy. Do you think they have enough funds to physically go there and confirm if the places existed where I worked.

They rely on your words, and your pledge that you answered everything truthfully, and in the last to ban you for misrepresentation if they find out.

To answer your question, NO they CAN NOT visit the foreign work places of 3000+ candidates being invited every 2 weeks.

They might, but calling, emailing, verifying address on Internet (eg. Maps), etc are more common.

They have embassies in almost every country and also have confidential sources in almost every country. If they determine that there is something fishy about your work experience, it's not a problem for them to verify via physical visit if need be.

They select some candidates at random. They have embassies, consulates and high commissions in almost every country and the local visa office can physically visit the location if needed. My current work place is opposite canada house in London. I won't be surprised if they drop by.
