Hi Guys

I have received the ITA and am in the process of collecting all docs for submission.

I was unable to secure the reference letter from my previous employer and i am trying to get some ex colleagues to write the same for me. The problem is my colleagues are apprehensive about writing such a letter because they feel that if the organization doesn't issue such letters and CIC calls the company about the same , they will get into trouble .

Can you please advise if CIC calls the company directly or will they be calling the people who write the letter since it will be their details which are going to be mentioned in the letter

Thanks a lot!

It's up to CIC to decide whom they want to call and nothing stops them from verifying your credentials. There have been posts here where CIC has made verification calls. Nobody can predict whom they will call.

Thanks !

I will be mentioning in my letter explaining the situation and will include the communication from HR that they will not issue the letter as needed. My only concern is if they call them , my colleagues may get into trouble

My assumption is that they will call the people writing the reference letters , in that case its not an issue.
