Hello,
I just started working in Montreal Sep 3.
According to my work contract I have "3 weeks of vacation in accordance with applicable law".
After talking with my HR person he said that in Quebec is a weird system where one "earns" vacation from March to March for the next year. In my case, I earn vacation from March 2019 to March 2020 which can be used in the period March 2020 to March 2021. This implies I have NO VACATION until March?!
This also implies if somebody would start working in June, he would not have vacation for an entire year!
I can't help myself but this being a misunderstanding. Not even in worker hostile places like California such a "draconian" rule is in place.
Is anybody able to clarify this?
Thank you!
