Please can anyone who has been successful with variable working hours under CEC share info.
I have worked for 3 employers in Canada since May 2015.

Employer 1: 10 hours per week, May to December 2015-8 months.
Employer 2: 37.5 hours per week, June to November 2016- 6 months.
Employer 3: 40 hours per week, December 2016 to date-4months.

(I don't always work these hours in full each week)

I have now accumulated a total of 1570 hours.
Would this combination be eligible under CEC?

First - Because full-time work is defined as "30 or more" hours per week, where the # of weeks is the denominator, it is more useful (and more precise) to count the actual number of weeks (exact start date to exact end date); there are 52 weeks in one year. That is how IRCC will do it. As well, "30 or more" means that 30 hours per week, 40 hours per week, or 80 hours per week - it is all the same, just "full-time", and you do not count the hours. The hour equivalent is provided so that part-time workers can calculate the full-time equivalent (FTE).

Employer 1: 10 hours per week, May to December 2015-8 months.
I'll estimate using 32 weeks, but you should count the actual weeks.
32 weeks * 10 hours per week = 320 part-time hours. 320/30 hours per week = 10.7 FTE weeks.

Employer 2: 37.5 hours per week, June to November 2016- 6 months.
(you do not count HOURS when it is full-time, just weeks. Lets say this is 24 weeks of full-time work. Again, count the actual weeks worked.

Employer 3: 40 hours per week, December 2016 to date-4months. ??? Do you mean 3 months? Let's say this is 12 weeks of full-time work experience (you do not count HOURS when it is full-time).

By my estimation, you only have 46 weeks of full time + FTE experience. You will be eligible when you have 52 weeks.

As for the "variable hours" part - it really depends on how MUCH the hours vary. So for example, if you usually work 40 hours per week, and one week you work 38 hours and another week you work 42 hours, then it doesn't matter - it is all full-time, and as long as the average #hours is close to 40 hours per week, your supporting documents will validate your experience.

It is a completely different matter if you are working a combination of part-time and full-time hours. That gets complicated, and you had better have good records of the hours worked per week.
