Hey people.

Got my work permit approved, thought id share the process, it might help someone.

My last two years were spent on a New Zealand Working Holiday Permit.

10 months ago i started working on said permit for new employer.

This employer applied for my LMO on october 25th.

First LMO was negative (didnt advertise in the correct job site, pay rate wasnt high enough)

Second LMO positive and received on Dec 5th

I applied for my new work permit with this employer on Dec 9th

Received work permit on Dec 28th.

Both LMO and Work Permit are valid for 1 year (surprisingly not 6 months like the HRDC wesite says)

Also the work permit is a simply "staple into your passport" paper; ie. i dont have to go to the border and flagpole.

Hope this is helpfull or in the very least gives anyone in the same situation a little hope in what can sometimes seem a worrying hopeless situation.

Happy new year.

Congratulations!! Did you send application to CPC-Vegreville? I guess having had a work permit albeit a working holiday permit, that makes you eligible to apply for the work permit through Vegreville. Processing for your work permit was fast though considering it is for the same employer.

Yep, application was sent to Vegreville. But i think basically all initial or extension applications are accepted there.

Hi Eateateat,

do you know by any chance, what kind of questions did canada service ask your employer when they called him according to your LMO?

Thank you for your reply.
