I came to Vancouver today and its beyond expectation. If you are from India, you will marvel at the airport here. It is beautiful. The ride from the airport to downtown on the train was excellent (up to the point it went underground, then there was no views). I am staying at the Sheraton and the area is buzzling but not the choking overcrowding one gets in India. The streets are clean, the people friendly and the air chilly.

I don't know about property prices in Vancouver. I expect them to be expensive because hotels are really expensive but it looks like a great city to live. I am only visiting but will update more about the city as I enjoy it.

Thnx for sharing. Great to knw about vancouver as we put our choice for it... If everything goes okey for us then we would love to move in there sometime later this year!!

I don't get your point as you said you are visiting!! Ain't you visiting as a PR over there? Pl keep posting more of it as it will feed something to our imagination and passion

Pl also wish us luck as it seems we really stuck "in process" for a longer time than we expected...

Thnx again and enjoy your time

Hi,

I planned for Toronto, but as getting good feedbacks for Vancouver so I have started thinking of it.

Please update which City is more better in terms of IT Jobs, less populated, Goof Weather and Cheap for new Immigrants.

Regards...

Toronto being the biggest city has competitive advantage... More corporates than any other cities... Vancouver is 3rd largest city of Canada after Toronto and Montreal...

For IT jobs, first one is Toronto and second is Vancouver...

Again, this is what I found from my findings...

Vancouver is indeed a beautiful place....and it is closer to US so has loads of plus and minus, depends upon individuals priorities but yes if given a chance I would love to get settled in Vancouver.

Hi All,

Does anyone know which city is best for banking / financial services job ?

Regards
Saki

I agree with Rocky...

Just to add to that, high salary jobs in financial sector are also there in Edmonton and Calgary... This is the feedback I have received from some friends in Canada...

Dear i'll miss Punjab from the very first day...I love Punjab.

I have a friend who went to Vancouver today as well. He sent me an email. He echoed the same sentiments as new2canada. He said that I will love the place, because the airport has lots of sign in Hindi. He can't read Hindi but he knows what devanagari script looks like.
He said he saw lots of people in turban, not sure if he meant punjabi or muslim. I think he was trying to convey that there are lots of Indians/Pakistanis there. He did say Vancouver is diverse. Unfortunately, he is under the weather so won't be able to see much of Vancouver.
