Validity of trv

hi all

My father applied for trv for second time and this time it got approved but the validity is only 1 year. I thought it’s ususlly 10 years or until passport expiry. Any idea why he is given only one year multiple entry ?

IRCC usually gives a 10 year/till passport validity visa. However, if they feel that there was something not quite right in the application (but not enough to deny), they can give a shorter visa. Nothing you can do about this.

When you apply for a new visa next year, they will very likely give a 10-year visa because they will know that your father didn't misuse the one year visa.
