I am a potential Canadian immigration applicant currently living in Pakistan. May I please seek your kind guidance on my following confusion. I will really appreciate your help.
I have an offer of post-doctoral research fellow (NOC 4011) from a university located in British Columbia. It is a LMIA-exempt job offer for 1 year (starting from 01 September 2022). The university has already got the employment number from the employers' portal and sent me along with a 1-year contract/offer letter. I have already applied for work permit from Pakistan based on the employment number received from university and my application is in process nowadays.
If I make an express entry profile now in parallel to my work permit application, can I use this same job offer (1 year contract, LMIA-exempt) to claim 50 additional CRS marks in my express entry profile?
If not, can I get any other benefit of this job offer in my immigration or pnp process?
I will really appreciate your answer. It will help me a lot.
Regards

No you cannot claim 50 points based on LMIA-exempt permit. Once you get your work permit and work in Canada for one year then you can claim Canadian experience points. After a year, you can then claim the 50 points if the university reissues you a new contract/offer letter that you will continue to have full time employment, one year past receiving PR.
