Hello All,
A small question.

Ideally what is the validity of Employer Reference Letter ? How old could an employer reference letter be at the time of submission of application. How long is it valid for?

I will reach my work experience eligibility in July end. I have to leave the country immediately after that for family reasons.I am worried that if the CEC cap is reached by then , i will have to apply for the following year Oct 2014 quota.I am well aware that I could use this work experience gained. What I am worried is that I can manage to get an Employer Reference Letter before I leave , But I am not sure if my employer will do the same months after I leave.

Please advise.

Thank you

you have to get that letter after period of one year.. Suppose if you finish your one year experience on july 25 then you should get your letter after 25th.... You cant get your letter before your experience finish date...

Hi HarryButtar ,
I understand that implications ,
what i mean to ask is if i finish my one yr on july 1st , I can get a letter from them on july 15 th or so .But how long is this letter valid ?
If i am going to apply for CEC , the following sept , can i use the same reference letter or do i have to get a new one?

Thanks

According to me if u get your letter after the completion of one year then you dont have any prob.. You can apply with that letter in sept bcoz every letter is valid for min six months

An employer letter does not 'expire'.

In practice, the letter cannot be more than three years old when you apply, because that is the earliest work experience you can claim, and as Harry has pointed out, the letter can only attest to work experience gained prior to the date it was written.
