My still valid work permit was removed from my passport when i left Canada. Im looking to re-enter and work. My permit was removed, and my application papers are no longer valid... but i should technically still have 12+ months on my visa. has this happened to anyone else? Will i need to re-apply for a visa, new approval papers? or should it be ok?

Work Permit Removed? Those only get taken off if they have expired. If you have a valid visa your good to go. but dont mention anything about work unless you have applied ahead of time.

Yes..I wasn't sure if this was a standard thing when flying out of the country.. I guess not...

i want to be able to work, so will have to have proof/ the physical work permit..

Thats odd.
did you just exit for holidays or left the job?
they should not be removing your work permit if you are just on holidays and intending to get back and work with the same employer and same conditions stated on the permit.
