Valid study permit, but expired visa

Hello,

I'm an international student at a university in Canada, I came back home for the holidays but my visa expired in early December. I applied to renew it right away, from here back home, but I have yet to hear anything from them.

Like I said I still have my passport with my valid study permit (for over a year), but my visa is expired. I'm getting worried I won't received it before my scheduled flight.

Is there anything that can be done in this situations? or I would be flat out denied entry to the country?

U can't enter without visa its clearly written on our study permit that permit does not authorize re entry u should have extended ur visa from Canada ,, now all u can do is to wait,
