Valid status to be elegible for OPW (Inland common law application)

Hi guys, I recently sent our Inland common law sponsorship application, and I also included an OWP application. My visitor status runs out at the end of August. I know that to be elegible for the Work Permit you must be with a valid status, this confuses me a bit. Does this mean I have to make sure my status is valid until i receive AOR? or when they are about to issue my work permit? (which is probably going to be after my visitor status expires)

Am I fine or should I plan to extend my visitor status?

1. You are fine, you have valid implied status until a decision is made on your OWP, as you applied for it when your visitor status was still valid.

Valid status as of the date of application.
