Hi Guys

I attained my PR as a Protected Person. I got my Refugee Travel Document and I used to travel to my Old/Home country. I am from Iraq Kirkuk, I went only to the Kurdistan Regional Government which is part of Iraq but they are have autonomy. I have travel few times and the immigration officers at the airport never had problem with this.

Now i am apply for Canadian Citizenship. Do you think this will be a problem

Best Regards

Quite possibly. You’ve essentially established that you can freely travel back to the country (on several occasions) you sought refugee status from. Reavailment is usually identified during PR renewals or citizenship application and not necessarily by CBSA. All you can do now is apply and see what, if anything comes of it.

The argument will be made that you could have relocated to the Kurdish area of Iraq which is still in Iraq if you feel safe travelling there multiple times.
