Dear All
Today May 11, 2023 I received my RTD and now want to apply for USA Visitor VISA just to visit Time Square and Manhattan
I got my eCoPR on April 18, 2023 and my PR card is on the way.

I want the guidance from the experts for US VISA
what are the key Points before and during applications
I never applied US Visa in past.
- Form number for USA VISA or Link if possible.
- any current Job requirement / T4 valid of last year or Income tax filling with CRA is enough ?
- Funds to show in Bank etc
- Travel ticket and Itinerary is needed ?
- Reference in USA needed or No ?
- any other Points to be consider

Thank you in advance
Hello,

Here is the link for the US Visa application form. https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/default.aspx?mwAuPMxSJKTwVl6X6P2jKQ==&TSPD_101_R0=0883343043ab2000ad059e8577055265fbd78e3a7a70b6e46ae6f732bef5ec6ddffcfc7b25b05d0108c3ac607d1430000a10210d93cd226c4aa597efc64f15e1d97b36664ee22d3942c74b996e7cee418a6d9f288678c88b69007195c10e28b6.

you need to create an account, complete the forms, select interview date and make payment.

on your interview date, go with your PR card and appoint confirmation letter only. Proof of fund isn’t needed. The consular will ask you the purpose of visit to the US, your status in Canada (they already know that you claimed asylum so don’t lie) and will also want to know your source of income in Canada. The likelihood of rejection is next to zero Cos they are mostly concerned about your Canadian status. You’ll be given a white a paper after the interview and your 10years visa will be issued.

Thanks.

Refusal rate for Canada 58.33% , so that is not quite as you mentioned zero. They are more worried about the individuals ties to Canada , plus status

I agree that refusal rate has gone up but I think 58.33% is an overstatement. I therefore question the source of that information.I have never heard a case of any USA visa refusal for a Canadian Permanent resident holder. Also, don’t forget that

I totally disagree with the percentage. What is the source of that information? What statistical evaluation was done to justify that number. (Please note that I am referring to US visa application for Canadian permanent residents). Most PR holders that i know were issued their US visas when they apply from Canada.

Also, If you receive notice that you have been refused of the US visa, it does not mean that the visa has been refused permanently; it means that more information is required before a final decision can be made regarding a case. Applications may be refused under Section 221(g) if required documentation is missing or has expired, or if the applicant has not provided sufficient proof of a qualifying relationship, for example.

In the refusal letter, the consular officer will indicate additional information required to complete the visa application. You have one year from the date of the refusal to submit the information, and no further action can be taken on your application until you provide this information.

All the information is available onhttps://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/after-you-receive-your-visa/.

Data you shared is not relevant to this case, it is by Nationality not by Residence. In this case, for whatsover reason lets say adminissibility, if 2 Canadian Citizen apply for US B Visa and 1 was approved, it will be 50% refusal rate. There are country in the list with 100% refusal rate, simple assumption would be 1:1 sample ratio. If applicant with PR prove economic/family ties in Canada, he has good chance to be approved B1 visa.

Your summary is 100% correct. The data is totally wrong.
The use case here is for people with Canadian permanent residency NOT canadian citizens. Refusal rate for US visa applicants from Canadian PR holders is very low (if all your documents are genuine). Also, the last time I checked a Canadian citizen does not need a B1/B2 visa to vist the US.

Congratulations. I wonder how long years or months a visa was issued to RTD?
