There is no way you can get it done quick. It will take 3-4 months depending upon how many applications FBI receives. To get your fingerprinting done, call your local Police Station and ask them. Usually any police station that has holding cells where they arrest people and detain them has a fingerprinting tech. You will have to take an appointment.

Hi,

Did you get PCC from India too? If so, can you please tell me if you did it being in US and what was the procedure?

Thanks in advance.

For recording fingerprints (in USA) to send to FBI, can I do it on my own in FD-258 form or do we have to goto a police station and record it?

No one is stopping you from doing it, however, it is highly recommended that you get it done from a fingerprinting technician. They will charge you $10-25 depending on where you live. They don't record your fingerprints, only put them on the FD-258 and give the card to you. Getting it done from the technician is highly advisable since it will lower your chances of it being rejected by FBI due to poor quality or not having it done properly.

Are you saying that at the police station they do it correctly and the technicians are better.
Coz there are so many places where you can get the finger printing done. But not sure if the technicians there are good

All police departments have trained techs who fingerprint people who are detained or imprisoned. They are trained and know how to do it properly. They also have the requisite magnetic powder ink and other tools. The have done thousands and I would trust one of them than a private organization.

When I got my fingerprinting done for the FBI PCC, I went to the local police department, they charged me $10. I had to take an appointment and it went flawlessly.

Remember it takes 4 month to get the FBI PCC. In case your card is rejected due to poor prints, or not following doing it properly, you are looking at another 3-4 months. So why risk it, get it right the first time.

Yes thats right ! apply for PCC as soon as possible and then you can create your profile and wait for ITA.
I had applied for PCC of 14th Oct 2015 and I created by EE profile on 16th Nov 2015.
Yet I got my PCC 3-4 weeks before my eAPR deadline. So apply ASAP if you can for US PCC.

HTH !

If you get an ITA nd your FBI PCC is under process, just include an Letter of Explanation with your application. You will get 60 days to furnish FBI PCC.
