There is one called Forum Friends ( for all countries though) on facebook already. Not saying you can't start another US specific one but that one is there too.

Thanks! If there isn't any interest after a few days, then I'll most likely send a request to join that group. It seems most of the American's who are active appear to be seniors offering help.
