Yes a transit visa is required for USA, try alternative routes,

Air France - Paris
Lufthansa - Frankfurt
Etihad - Abu Dhabi
Emirates - Dubai
British Airways - London

These flights start from Bangalore and no transit visa is required... You will have to stay within the airport and take your connecting flight
