I am a US citizen applying for a study permit in Canada.

I applied from the US and I have recieved my letter of acceptance, I have been accepted for a loan, I have all the paperwork and financial funds I need for being accepted for a study permit. I have enrolled for classes and plan to be a full-time student.

The thing is, I purchased my ticket for August 3rd right after applying for my visa on July 4th. Im pretty sure my application has been sent to L.A. for processing, I checked out the processing table and it says that it will take up to 8 weeks. Will I be able to go to Canada Aug. 3rd? What happens next? My flight to Canada is at JFK airport as well, will that make it even more difficult?

I'm afraid my visa isn't going to be processed in time for school and I want to make sure I have everything set up and check out the job opportunities on campus and get more familiar with the grounds. I'm going to be living with my girlfriend who is a Canadian citizen. I was in Canada from August to February on a temporary resident visa. I have my name on her lease and proof of her income and a letter of support from her and her parents which I included in the application. I printed out the entire application and put it in a folder.

I'm looking for some insight on what to expect the day I get to the airport.

Thanks so much in advanced.
