I am an American citizen. I'm going to apply for PR under the self-employed category. I can prove my income through various ways, including bank statements, contracts from employers etc. I have earned more than enough to qualify and I can show it in undeniable and concrete ways. Here's the rub: I have not filed US tax returns since I've been living overseas. Two questions:
1) Will I have to provide my US tax returns when I apply? Or, will contracts, bank statements etc do?
2) If I'm called for an interview, will they want to see my US tax returns?
Anyone with any real experience or knowledge of this?
