US online university courses while on visitor visa

Hello everyone,

I am applying for my visitor visa extension to stay in Canada. I am interested in applying for a online program in the United States. I would be attending my old university online while visiting here until we can complete the common law residency route. Does this violate the no attending educational institution part of the visitor visa or is that just for Canadian educational institutions?
