Hi,

My husband and I have been waiting since November 2010. Is this a sign that he has been denied? He had some criminal baskground issues but he was never covicted of any of his charges. (He was a bouncer at a bar and was charged 4x with assault) Just wondering I am assumming that is why it is taking so long? Is there any time line that Buffalo office has to let us know either way? Contacted my MP and have done numerous inquiries online. It doesn't seem to make a difference. Any advice?

If you haven't already, you may want to order the CAIPS/GCSM notes on your record to see if there's anything in the notes you could proactively help address.

You can be certain that the assault charges are the issue Buffalo is dealing with that's taking all the time. I agree, order the CAIPS notes to see if you can get some sense of what they're thinking - but typically in this type of situation, you just have to wait it out. There's no way to influence the decision (in fact, if you try, it seems to make things worse), and there's no way to hurry things along. Try to be patient and hope for the best.

is there any way u can inquire about the process that's going on with your application?
that could be a reason why it is taking long to be approved but there are cases that it should be waited because it is still on process.

thanks for everyone thoughts. I will order the Notes and see where that leads me. Thanks again...
