Hello!

So, I know that I need to get my loans in order to have proof of funds. I'm in the process of doing that already. I also know that I dont' have to get a medical certificate.

What I am confused about is how the application process goes. On the Quebec Immigration website, it says that I can apply for my visa at the border. But do I already need to have my CAQ? Or do I apply for that all at once? If I do wait until I cross the border, when should I "move"? Any deadlines I should know about? Thanks!

Thank you!

Edit: this was originally my sisters account! I'm using it now. :)

You're going to need your study permit approval letter when you get to the border, in order to get your visa. So you do want to apply for that online before you head north - it's on the CIC website which does not seem to play nicely with the Chrome browser. I had better luck with Firefox.

Estimated processing times when I did mine was about 5 weeks - I got my approval in 3 days.

(I also provided screenshots of my loan paperwork along with bank statements and a personal letter from a family member promising financial support to cover all my basis for proof of support.)

Thank you very much! Should I plan to be moved to Montreal before a certain time? I would like to wait before about two weeks before school starts, but I'm not sure if I have to move earlier than that.
