Hi guys, i have a question about overstaying , i'm planning to apply for visa visitor and there is question that have you remained beyond the validity of your status? and i actually i overstayed 5 months but it was my consulate fault i though that i'm in implied status but the IRCC was already answered him and he said he didn't get the mail and he thought that my application was in process. what i can do now i should mention that overstayed or not? please if you can help

You have to mention it. If you don’t it’s misrepresentation and you can end up with a 5 year ban from Canada.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. You overstayed and you have to answer yes.

It may affect your application or it may not. However you have no choice but to say yes. If you say no - that's misrepresentation and you could end up with a five year ban from Canada.

You could include a letter with your application explaining that you though you were on implied status when you overstayed.

1. Wonder if the OP is going for the record, now has asked the same question 3 times.
