Hello everyone,

I am confuse about so many information in the website. Should we use LiveScan (digital/ink less) procedure to obtain fingerprint and get FBI and state police clearance?

The cic link directed me to procedure where in we should "manually" send the fingerprint card and money order to FBI and DOJ.

BUT, the DOJ website has some information where in manual fingerpinting is only done for individuals living in California where LIvescan services is not available.

From my understanding, if using Livescan, the livescan operator will be the one to send everything to FBI and DOJ. all you need to do is pay the FBI fee, DOJ fee and the fingerprinting fee.

Please shed some light. Who went through this procedure?

i did the inkless fingerprinting at a police/sheriff station and sent the finger prints to both my state police and FBI myself.

well.. I did fingerprint at local police station.. made 3 sets as I was lived in more than 6 months in 2 state.

1 copy to FBI, 2 copy to 2 state ( 1 copy each )...however in one state as finger print was not clear so they again requested to get livescan fingerprint.

so..check with your state if they accept livescan you can do that....
