Hello there!

I became PR on 02/12/2020. I spent 60 days so far in Canada.

I'm thinking to move there on 03/15/2023.

  1. Will I have any problems at the border? Will I be reported?
I will be still within the allowed days outside (1095) for RO but will be cutting close like 30 days.
  2. Later, say in 2024, if I travel outside of Canada for 20 days, will it become a problem when I re-enter Canada?

1. You should not have any problems. You will not be reported because technically, with 60 days credit as of today towards the 730 days needed, you have until Feb 2024 to return to Canada before you would run the risk of having Residency Obligation issues.

2. Should not be an issue, but keep in mind that it is YOUR responsibility to keep track of the days that you are, or will be, in Canada for each rolling 5 year period to maintain your R.O. and to keep your PR status. The PR Card expires every 5 years, but status itself does NOT expire. If you fail to meet the R.O., your status could be lost.
