Hello all,

CIC are currently reviewing my Permanent Residence application and they sent me a Request letter asking for what I did between 1st September 2012 to 1st October 2013.

Firstly, I have no idea why they are asking for this because I already mentioned in my Work History and my Personal Activities that I was working in Switzerland for that exact time period. The tabs only asked for the month/year and the Request letter is now asking for the actual dates.

Could it just be that they want more information? (Rather than saying there is missing information?).

I have 7 DAYS to give them this information, which I can easily do but I'm panicking because how do I upload it? Everything is greyed out in my application page, everything is 'Transmitted' and there is no more upload button. :s

Any help is greatly appreciated. The Request letter is below:

"This letter is about your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue the review of
your application we require that you provide us with detailed information for the time period between
September 1, 2012 and October 1, 2013.
Please provide us with residency, occupation/studies, travels, etc. for the period mentioned. If
you were not working, provide information on what you were doing (for example: unemployed,
studying, travelling, retired, in detention, etc).

If you were studying, please provide the location of studies, time period when you took the
course.
If you participated in a distance education program/online studies, please indicate of the
institution, the location where course was taken, etc.
You must identify your activities during the specified period detailing day, month and year for
each entry. "

Can you check the online form under personal activities in your submitted eAPR(View submitted application>view form ) that there was no gap/activities on that period? Maybe the information you provided was missing.

Check if they have provided you any option to upload requested documents at placeholder (view submitted application>continue>documents submitted by the client page). If they enabled any option, upload there.

If you don't find option, send by CSE as early as possible. Also write LOE for difficulties to upload.

You can send schedule A form or simply write the activities you have performed on that specific period.

Hi and thank you for responding quickly, as I'm pretty worried now.

My "Application/Profile details" page says "No additional documents needed at this time" and yet further down the page is their email titled "Request Letter".

and my "Documents submitted by the client" page says everything is 'provided' in green font and offers no active button except 'Exit Questionnaire.'

I've given Work History from 2012/9 to 2013/9 which is repeated in Personal History. I also gave Personal History from 2013/10 to 2013/12.

So there are no gaps :s I even uploaded work contracts giving the exact dates.

I sent a 'technical difficulties' email, but since I only have 7 days I'm worried I won't hear back on time.

It's a little frustrating because I'm sure I did everything correctly. :(

Is anyone else having upload issues for an already submitted application?

No need to be worried at all as you have sent the info/docs by CSE in time and you have proof (automated reply). It's not your fault to upload docs. It's CIC s fault, they asked docs but you were not provided any option. I was in the same situation on November 13, I was requested to indicate marital status of me and my spouse family members, but they didn't provide me any option. Then I sent a CSE on Nov 14. Still now I didn't get any reply from CIC for my cse. But last December 17 my background status changed to in progress. I think they attached the doc from my CSE.

Did you try to see the 'submited application'? On the botton on the list of the documents submited there is probably a space to upload it

@duckirha

Thank you for the reassurance. I will attempt to send a PDF file to CIC via the Case Specific Enquiry. I still think it's pretty surprising that they would request information they already have and make it impossible for me to upload it anywhere with 7 days notice.

I think maybe because the application only allows a person to enter year/month, that they wanted the specific dates as well? They could have clarified they just wanted further detail rather than missing information.

Anyway, I hope this works...

To me, the tone of the letter suggests there is some kind of unexplained discrepancy between residential history, work/study history, and/or travel history.

If you were working in Switzerland during that time, were you also living there? Did you provide a residential address in Switzerland for the time period? Indicate it on travel history? Did you provide a PCC for Switzerland?

Jes_ON got the point. I think the address history or travel history or personal activities history or work history are inconsistent in that period. Check all info you provided under all above history in your submitted eAPR. Maybe you will find the issues.

There are actually no issues or discrepancies.

However, I now think they were confused by the fact that I was working in Switzerland for 13 months, but switched apartments from Switzerland to France after the first 2 months. (I had company accommodation to begin with). So my Work history won't list the same countries as my Address history.

If they were to check the actual addresses though, they would see I was actually living within walking distance of the Swiss-French border. I've mentioned this in the letter I want to upload just to clarify it.

I think I'm correct in saying I only needed to upload a PCC for France because I was there for 11 months (i.e. more than 6 months).

Could they just have got confused by it?

p.s. it was actually a quicker (10 min) walk from my apartment in France to the Swiss company than from my Swiss address (30 min)!

Have you uploaded pcc for France? I think so they got confused by it.

This is exactly the explanation you need to provide. The VO cannot "assume" and certainly does not have the time to figure this all out him/herself, make it easy for them!

If you only actually resided in Switzerland for 2 months, then you probably don't need the PCC, but you should explain all of the above...

I think that's fair enough. I've highlighted the fact that I was near the border (and the company) at all times and provided proof of addresses. I've provided a PCC for France (which surprisingly was sent to me in the UK with no fee).

The most alarming thing however was that I couldn't (and still can't) upload such a simple explanation. I'll see how the Case Specific Enquiry route goes...

Everyone's been really helpful, I really appreciate these responses :)
